MCT:October 11, 2008Storia della battaglia delle Termopili tra persiani e greci, questi ultimi in netta minoranza: 300 erano gli uomini a disposizione Leonida. Film stereotipato (buoni contro cattivi) si segnala per la bella realizzazione figurativa, con gli stessi effetti di "Sin city".

Blood, epic battles, cheesy one liners, innovative filming methods - could this be terminator 2? oh, no its not, but what it is is a riot of a film, uninterested with tangling itself in more than a floss-thin sub plot, and concentrating on the thing we watch these sorts of films for. Action.

wow, a really2 great film. i usually do not like war film as it is very boring. but this film is really great. it has morality values and great effects. really captivating and moving.

Ho-ly Crap. This movie made me wish it lasted another 2 hours. I saw it in a packed IMAX theatre on opening night. It was amazing.
Frank Miller's graphic novel was well portrayed, the acting was good enough, but the narration, battle scenes, humor, and Lena Heady were simply incredible. Wow, is she hot.
For those of you who find my reviews sexist - stop reading them. -

To the people who have made me hate this movie, fuck you. It WAS an above average stylized action movie and now it's nothing more than fanboy ravaged trash. Style-wise, it's great but doesn't deliver on much more than that.

MCT:September 30, 2008It's facist Greeks with the personalities of WWF wrestlers against throbbing swarms of fundamentalist Persians. We're supposed to be on the side of the fascists, apparently. And the amount of blood and sheer number of relentless decapitations and disembowelments is enough to make all but the most bloodthirsty depressed by the film's conclusion. The cinemetography is good, however.

This movie kicked so much ass, I could almost feel my tail bone being snapped in two. Scene after scene in this movie, there are moments were the luscious beauty or beautiful brutality of what's on the screen was so etheral that I had to pinch myself to prove that I wasn't watching paintings in motion. Everybody in this movie was so immersed in their roles that there were times that I felt that I was watching footage of the actual events. The action is flabber-gasting, the dialogue so inspired, like Shakespeare meets "The Dirty Dozen". I don't think there's a scene that sums up the bombastic greatness of this terrific epic flick, like the scene in the well. Wherein King Leonidas bellows with savagely joyous animalistic fury: "THIS...IS...SPARTAAA!" and kicks a bunch of Persians into a bottomless pit. Welcome to a world of violence. Enjoy your stay.

No words can describe how empowered this film makes a man feel. i watched it and just wanted to hit several people JUST because the speech King Leonidas gave made me want to run around in my underpants, brandishing a sword and sheild at the invading hoardes!!!!

A very impressive follow up to Dawn of the Dead. I didn't think he had it in him until I saw the preview reel at SDCC. Amazing visuals. Able to copy the GN while still being film oriented.

This simply an excellent and intense visual film. The story of the 300 told in a very artistic way. Lots of action and gore, with a feel for the graphic novel.

Based on the epic graphic novel by Frank Miller, '300' is a ferocious retelling of the ancient Battle of Thermopylae in which King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) and 300 Spartans fought to the death against Xerxes and his massive Persian army. Facing insurmountable odds, their valor and sacrifice inspire all of Greece to unite against their Persian enemy, drawing a line in the sand for democracy. The film brings Miller's (Sin City) acclaimed graphic novel to life by combining live action with virtual backgrounds that capture his distinct vision of this ancient historic tale.
After watching this movie, I felt that the hair on my chest had grown in a bit thicker, my voice got a bit deeper, and I became more of a man. This might be the ultimate man movie. This is immediately up on the list with Gladiator and Braveheart for the ultimate manly movies of all time. I can honestly say that I have never seen any fight scenes like the ones in this movie. I think the cinematography from this film could forever change the way movies are filmed and edited. The only thing that could possibly be considered anywhere near bad about the movie is that this was based on the graphic novel and not what really happened. So you will have the people accepting this as truth and that is dumb, but in reality, they are dumb for accepting a movie as truth. The characters are all portrayed in a way that makes them seem larger than life (not just in physical size). If you still haven't seen this movie, do yourself a favor and go see this one...immediately.

I actually rented this for my husband but ended up thoroughly enjoying it myself, and no.... not just because of all the buff half naked men!! It's definately entertaining and the scenery and CGI are great - fab battle scenes and suprisingly a few funny one liners, Gerard Butler = class!!

Aside from a great epic film about a country defending itself to the death from an oppressive invader, you have to love all the have naked men, good grief, you have to love G.Butler!!!

This is a great movie! How tough were they, 300 against 300,000 and at the end of the battle, the 300 were dead, but 42,000 Persians were dead; I think they did their part! Kick-ass movie!!! Loved it!!!
