as much as i love batman i really do not like this one...george clooney and pretty much EVERYone in this movies is terrible! baaad baaaad!
worst batman movie ever
Joel Schumacher took all the elements of "Batman Forever" and brought them up a notch, right over the top. Arnold Schwarzenegger as Mr. Freeze and Uma Thurman as Poison Ivy were unbelievably cartoonish, harkening right back to the tacky 1960's Batman TV series. But they weren't the only ones: Batman, Robin and Batgirl had corny dialogue and action scenes too. Clooney was a bit too happy to be Batman and Alicia Silverstone looked a bit chubby in her Batgirl suit. The only other complaint I have is the cheap plasic icicles when the city is frozen.
I did not mind all the fun and bright colors which Joel brought to the big screen. Fun, Fun, Fun!
''I'm afraid my condition has left me cold to your pleas of mercy.''
To begin with this film has some of the worst lines in History that i cannot stop laughing at! I always die of shame when i watch this!
Batman & Robin try to keep their relationship together even as they must stop Mr. Freeze and Poison Ivy from freezing Gotham City.
Arnold Schwarzenegger: Mr. Freeze / Dr. Victor Fries
George Clooney: Batman / Bruce Wayne
Chris O'Donnell: Robin / Dick Grayson
Batman & Robin is the only Batman i do not own, to be honest I'm embarrassed if i had it.
I mean you'd think Joel Schumacher could be trusted to make another Batman film with his starry cast and make it serious. This is a tad of a joke, Sorry Joel! But seriously i was laughing at how bright and colourful it was, how Mr Freeze and his henchmen are gaily singing to a cartoon, and don't get me started on the lines, Oh...my...blooming....GAWD!
George Clooney as Batman right that sounds and looks ok on paper. It's not all your fault you can leave.
Arnie as Freeze, is this Panto? Come on man, you've done classics, go back to your politics in California and if this gets mentioned in your future run for president it's your own fault, don't cry to mama !
Chris O'Donnell buried his career, he's put on weight and into TV stuff now.
Uma Thurman as Poison Ivy, well no comment, shes definitely not growing on me in this role which ends up less plant grow fertilizer, more turd alert.
And no no No! One of my fave Batman Villain's Bane based on the character of Spawn i believe in this, now THAT i cannot forgive Joel. You pussy !
Nipples, tight bums... What the fuck??!! is this a twisted fashion parade lacking the fashion part or a comic book hero flick? I dont know, i hang my head in shame.
One more line, ''Come join me. My garden needs tending.'' or ''I need a sign that you've turned over a new leaf.''How about slippery when wet?" ok ok stop thats it...Pick up the gun end it...this nightmare cannot persist. I'm seriously wetting my nappy for B&R has turned me into a giant gibbering baby with it's squalid Power Ranger antics that has more colour than a kid's play book.
Alicia Silverstone, Vivicia A.Fox oh god!
Im going home...
see ya!
This film was pretty bad, who in their right mind would cast George Clooney as Batman. This film was embarrassingly funny.
ironicly you have to thank this movie for being bad because without it nolan wouldn't have made begins or dark knight
This sucks even more than the previous Batman movie! Clooney makes the worst Batman ever seen; he's so bad that's it's just unforgivable.
I actually paid to see this! After the torture...er, movie was over, I wanted go right up to the projector booth, kill the projectionist, smash up the box-office until they gave me my money back, and then burn down the theatre for showing it!
This movie sucks so much that it SHOULD have been called Schumacher the Bat Vacuum!
Do yourself a favor and never see this steaming pile of shit. See Tim Burton's Batman films instead.
Ok, so I know it wasn't the best, it was an ok movie and I liked the actors in it. It was a little crazy and definitely not up to par with the others, but it wasn't as bad as most people are saying--as for the goofy puns, refer to the Batman of the 60's, as campy as you can get! But whatever the Director of Batman & Robin was thinking it didn't quite mesh and didn't really work.
It is easy to see why this film sucked so badly becoming one of the worst films of 1997. Not even George Clooney or Uma Thurman couldn't save this movie. Nor Arnold. Blame Joel Schumacher for destroying the "Batman" franchise. Another reason why? The careers of both Alicia Silverstone and Chris O'Donnell were completely destroyed in this movie, which to this day why both of these actors are M.I.A.(Missing In Action) in Hollywood. By the way Alicia Silverstone was riding high as a great actress before her abyss here who went from "Clueless"(her breakthrough film and the one that rocketed her career) to a downward slide. And her role as "Batgirl" was the slide that botch her career. Same can be said for Chris O'Donnell. Because of this, the franchise wasn't heard of until 2005,when Christopher Nolan revived it and brought it back to life in "Batman Begins".
I have never, ever watched this movie since I saw it in theaters. I cannot believe how incredibly lame this movie was. It's like this movie was planned to bomb. Remember the scene where Batman and Robin are underwater (and why are they getting their A**es handed to them anyways?) and Robin surfaces and the film is played backwards as he is dragged under again? Or the unbelieveably pathetic puns from Mr. Freeze? And who could forget the inexplicable ice skates within their boots?
'Nuf said.
>_>
A 3 star average for this film on Flixster?! What on earth is going on here? Half a star is being generous for this movie.
Joel Schumacher was the man credited as killing the Batman franchise and with this, his second attempt, it's easy to see why. With dialogue from villan Mr Freeze such as: "You're not sending ME to the COOLER!", the nipples on the Batsuit and next to no cognitive direction at all.
Not even the ravaging beauty of Uma Thurman can save this film. I'd be prepared to view 364 hours of the home shopping channel, then be subjected to this dog of a film again. Praise Christopher Nolan for his wonderful follow-up Batman Begins, where the only person out of their depth was Katie Holmes as the love interest... eewww!
