The movie is very much in the style of the Jason Bourne movies with the formula agency spooks and espionage stuff. The first and last 20 minutes are pretty good and even though the middle section drags quite a bit the movie still never had that feeling of being terrible like Today You Die. The bad guys aren't too clichéd while John Pyper-Ferguson is a welcome casting, even though he seems to be putting on a bizarre accent. The fight sequences, which are extremely few and brief, are poor. The poorness of the fights however are due to the fact that Steven Seagal isn't present in any of them, even though his character is involved. However there is a great car chase and the movie also includes some impressive stunts.

MCT:June 26, 2006Steven Seagal... When you've seen one, you've seen them all... Some of he's earlier work is good, but not this one... The man is 55 and has developed quite a beer gut. Isn't it time to start being a sidekick for a younger martial arts actor? Sometimes it so obvious that he has a stuntdouble doing the moves he can't do himself anymore. Also think that Seagal played the same role in Foreigner. To his advantage he wasn't the producer... Alexander Gruszynski was. A tip to the same: Pick a younger actor next time, if it's going to be this kind of action.

MCT:June 25, 2006Under Seige is all that's good for Steven, along with a few others, but this one goes along with all of his other movies, and those crapy ones make up a good 95% of the movies he's in.
