dark humour. brad pitt surprised me with a great performance. i tend to like movies better the less i know about them. despite avoiding all reviews of this film before i saw it, it wasn't quite as good as i was hoping it would be.

A funny movie whose merits lie on a strong ensemble cast.Brad Pitt delivers one of his best performances ever as a stupid gym rat who thinks he got his ticket to stardom.Frances McDormand owns the movie as a woman who wants to keep her job at nay cost without pondering the consequences of her obsession with outer beauty.Goerge Clooney proves that he can pull out stunts.Although the script leaves the ending unconcluded, this movie is worth seeing.

It began sdtange enough but turned out to be hilarious. Frances McDormand was great. I am sure Brad Pitt had so much fun playing the role in this film. A gym will always bring a huge smile or even cuckle to me from now it.

Tilda Swinton's character never finds her conclusion; yet the rest of the movie is supremely confident in its ability to manipulate the audience, and I for one appreciated it. Brad Pitt is delicious and his character's major plot point is all the more delicious for it. Clooney, who initially seems unlikeable, becomes surprisingly sympathetic. McDormand continues to prove that she can do no wrong. The Coens are either intentionally retreating from their verbal splendor or they are fading. Either way, it is highly interesting, and they will have to fade quite a bit before their movies become uninteresting (I was one of the few who enjoyed Intolerable Cruelty and Ladykillers).

May not be as good as masterpieces such as Fargo or last year's best picture, No Country For Old Men, this film falls more under the catagory of Raising Arizona or The Big Lebowski. Well, even though the film will not likely be up for any awards still, in the hands of the talented Coen brothers somehow, without putting forth much effort, makes this ridiculous CIA spy comedy work. The film's story that is often very funny, very dark, and very stupid is also very unusual and sometimes shockingly unexpected. The film's central characters are frustratingly dumb almost to the point where we hate them, and are played by the usually suave actors such as Clooney and Pitt. However, just because the main characters are Hollywood stars that we love, don't let that fool you, because the Coen brothers treat them as if they are average nobodies, which mean anything goes.

Well thought out, extremely crazy and complicated story that ends up making fun of itself, great performances all around - with special mention going to Brad Pitt, - nothing that blows you away, however a great mix of a few laughs, interesting observations and some shocking moments. A fun ride when your not quiet sure what to watch.

a truly coens movie..The script is simple yet smart with some cool twists its not a new fargo but its really good..very sarcastic and the characters and story mixing with each other typical coen..Clooney and Pitt look insane, specially pitt..He can even put a shallow dumb look on his face..mcdormand is always a joy and some kind of coen fetiche and malkovich looks very malkovich (in a good way, cause i love him)..it was also cool to see again jk simmons..havent seen him since Oz.. a must see for coen´s fans

Just saw this movie and it's one of those that's funny at times, uncomfortable during others, shocking a few times, and just downright stupid in a scene or two. Great cast, love the script, but the story was so fucked up...

THe great thing about the Coen Brothers is sometimes you get Blood Simple and sometimes you get Raising Arizona. This one gives you a little of both, but don't expect another No Country for Old Men.

This film starts off with Ozzie Cox get fired for his job as a CIA agent. After that it becomes crazy anf confusing but really it gets down to the funny. Ozzie then beigns to ruin his relationship and his wife his cheating with a man named Harry( Clooney). But he isnt quite happy with her, so he puts up a profile on a dating site where he meets Linda (McDormand). whos friend CHad (Pitt) ends up finding some of Ozzies encrypted files at the gym where he works.

Brad Pitt is by far the brighest part of this film. He plays Chad, the fitness trainer whose intelligence level is not very high. Chad is just trying to get money out of Cox, wo he tries to work an angle, the only problem is that he doesnt know what mess he is getting himself into. Pitt really delivers the one liners, the wise cracks and the humor that movie goers have been waiting from him. This is something different from him and it is good to see. Brad really needs to get himself attached to more projects like this one.

George Clooney was great as well. Coming off some recent flops, he really gets his name back on the market. Geroge will be in a lot more movies due to his odd role in this film. It was also good for him to star in such a light hearted comedy which is all about the stupidity of people.

John Malkovich is an amazing actor. Coming off a career that has included Of Mice and Men and In The Line Of Fire. Malkocich just like Clooney and Pitt is amazing. He is the most serious of characters, but that is what makes it funny. He is serious to the point where it is almost to serious.

Great roles from all three lead actors. They all nailed there respective performances.

Again, expected an even funnier comedy, but still. Some scenes were fucking hilarious. The Coen Brothers probably have the best/funniest sense of humor. Just way too few of those funny scenes.

Good performances, a clever script, and an arbitrary plot make this a watchable movie about nothing. One of the characters even comments upon this, wondering what, if anything, they learned about whatever it was that happened. We enjoy watching the picture unfold, even though we cannot really make sense of it and have no reason to do so.
