Plot: Spending the summer in a holiday camp with her family, Frances ('Baby') falls in love with the camp's dancing teacher.
Own it, and yes I think the leading lady is somewhat hot. They also starred together in Red Dawn and she was the sister is Ferris Bueller's Day off.
an all times classic..we all have seen that this movie lasted in time and it is still fresh and always giving the message..so vibrating, so vivid..after all these years, i can watch it over and over again..
Cheesy, sentimental, and a soundtrack that's not quite sure of which period it's supposed to be in, but still has enough heart and soul to make this film worth a watch
My favortest movie of all time ..i mite go overboard on saying i watch other movies a thousand time but not this one..i can tell u exactly everything that happens in this movie..thanks to my cuzin..i love this movie..couldnt live without it.

The first time I saw this movie was when it first came out on VHS, and I was 7. Haven't stopped loving it since! And have always wanted Johnny Castle to teach me to dance!
In the 1960s, Frances 'Baby' Houseman, a sweet daddy's girl, goes to a very respectable summer camp in the Catskills. Her wealthy family expects her to fit in and make friends of their own class, especially a promising student who works there as a 'camp counselor', but she soon looses her heart to Johnny Castle, the hunky but penny-less dance teacher, whom she has a change to spend lots of time with, even at his place with other poor friends, when his partner for the annual demonstration is indisposed. In fact Baby has to beg her dad, an MD, to help Johnny's girls when she's butchered in an amateur abortion - he does, but forbids her to see him. Johnny can only take care of his girl if he wins the contest, which is impossible without Baby. Which loyalty and values will she choose in the end?
We've made sure we have video and dvd copies of this film so that we will always be able to watch it unless they stop making the players!!!
I hate this movie. The dialog is laughable, the acting is uninspired, the dancing is not that great and the storyline is so predictable that it pains me.
I would rather take an ice bath than watch this tripe.
Actually a great made movie.A love story similar to the romeo and juliet story,a rebel and a goodie goodie fall in love
In the beginning was a lil boring but in the end it was good cuz they danced. Just the dancing part I like lol
I love any musial and this is one of my faves from the 80's
a classic film i luv patrik swasey
Me and Aaron are going to learn the end dance and perform when we get married :D I LOVE THIS FILM!!!
Corny? Yes, but classic. You can?t hear Johnny Castle proclaim that ?No one puts Baby in the corner? without reminiscing your youth if you?re an 80?s child. I wasn?t allowed to watch this movie as a kid which made it even more appealing. Watching it as an adult was surreal?I had no IDEA that chick had an ABORTION! Blasphemy!
n't as good as I though t it would be, the sniffing crickets were cute (Sniff Sniff Sniff!) lol - if you weren't there that won't mean anything to you! Gutted
Thought this was great...it was different than I expected, but I liked it a lot. Definitely a classic that you gotta watch at least once!
"nobody sets my baby in the corner" this is an amazing movie. it just proves one good girl can turn the life of a bad boy around. and that swayze was good looking when he was young
love the musical. a the leads are very good actors considering they were repulsed by each other when makin it.
I have loved this movie from the first time I saw it. It is a movie that I own, which means I don't mind watching it again and again. Also, if this movie is on TV I will stop on that channel and watch it. No matter where I have come in on the movie.
