One thing that this movie does that is an improvement over the previous film is that they keep the story moving. The fight scenes happen along the journey that the characters are taking to stop the merging of the two worlds. This gives a more satisfying story than the first where they just sit around and wait for the next fight to be arranged.
That said, the acting is still nothing special and the special effects (especially the early generation CG effects) are laughable. Still, there is plenty of action and that will likely satisfy the target audience: fans of the plotless Mortal Kombat video games series. -
MCT:November 17, 2008What a piece of crap this movie was. Taking place directly after the first movie and yet they changed events, changed actors, they were wearing different clothes than they were in the end of the first movie and without a doubt the worst CGI i have ever witnessed.

One of the worst movies in the world today! Terrible acting with even worse production value. I don't understand why they bothered, but more importantly I don't understand why "I" bothered! Skip it, you'll be happier for it.

Bad bad bad. BAD! But if you like the video games or the first movie there's some fun in watching it for the characters. But otherwise it's good to watch to see just how bad a bad movie with a budget can be.

I saw this in theatres with Ryan and thought it sucked, which says a lot considering the fact that at that time I had bought a Lit cd. Who is Lit? Exactly. Just bad, think of the first Mortal Kombat, now make it suck more. Outworlds and realms, jesus shit, it's Mortal Kombat, just have people give other people uppercuts for a minute and a half and a chilling "Finish Him" scene where the attacker mis-executes a fatality and the other person just falls. FUCK YOU MORTAL KOMBAT. When I make a violent fighting game I'm gonna make a goddamn decapitation that is done by pressing "X". Cocks.

That's why I like their decisoin of making the next movie WAYY before Liu Kang, and Sub-Zero as main character. Can you imagine how much freakin better it will be??
