Uncle Ralph plots demonic machinations to scatter them apart from each other. Nicholas is sent away to work as a teacher at a school run by a cruel headmaster named Wackford Squeers; however, he eventually runs away with one of his students, Smike, on a mission to protect his family. Nicholas makes every attempt to reunite the Nickleby family--against all odds.

    The Nickleby Family: Nineteen-year-old Nicholas (Charlie Hunnam), his mother; Mrs. Nickleby (Stella Gonet), and his younger sister Kate Nickleby (Romola Garai) venture to London to seek help from their wealthy, cold-hearted Uncle Ralph Nickleby (Christopher Plummer) since his father's (Andrew Havill) death. Nick takes a young crippled Smike (Jamie Bell) to continue their journey to London. Nicholas is reunited with his family welcome Smike is a cousin of Nick & Kate Nickleby & son of Ralph Nickleby finds employment with the Cheeryble brothers to make the acquaintance of Madeline Bray (Anne Hathaway).

    Love, love, love!!! I watched it over and over. Charlie Hunnam and Anne Hathaway were GREAT!!! Every one of the characters is interesting. WATCH IT!!!
