I'm not normally into period movies (or Jane Austen for that matter!), but this actually was quite decent apart from the abrupt ending. Felicity Jones is lovely as Catherine, and I really liked the dream sequences - they made it something a bit more interesting than what you would normally expect from one of these movies. I have not read the book, so I could not say if it was a good adaptation or not, but it is good as a tv movie.

I was in a total Jane Austen mood yesterday. This was a great adaptation. JJ Feild is pretty cute too.

As a Jane Austen fan I am of course wary of any filming of her novels. So much can get lost in the film version due to short amount of time everything has to be packed in to.

This translation of the novel to film was fantastically done. The terror, the love, the mystery are all so well captivated.

I will now go out and check other films with JJ Field

not bad, about a young girl finding her true self in bath and "northanger abbey" with some trouble allong the way, quite sweet in parts however no way the best jane austen story. its a bit hazy and dull at the same time, the characters are interesting enough, the main character catherine is interesting and the actors keep it going with some nice scenes. its just the films nothing special in my mind. i supose its worth seeing for jane austen fans to see all of her adaptations, but dont get your hopes up. still not bad.
