MCT:November 13, 2008Wow! I knew it was bad, but I was expecting it to be quite this bad! The acting is mediocre at best, the dancing is laughable and the lead caracter is completely unlikable.

I'm so glad I've seen this movie.It was so overestimated and cheap you just loved glancing at every nude body without a specific ideal or movement.Is this the origin of pop-corn erotica or just another copy to expand the likes of Wild Orchid and similar cheap erotic films a while ago?More like chauvinism on my case.
p.s.: whoever refers to the All About Eve parallelism clearly doesn't know a thing about movies. -
MCT:August 25, 2008I was in awe from the very beggining. I want to be like Gina Gershon when I grow up. I think the reason this has such a low rating is because people completely missed the point here: Nomi betraying Cristal is clearly an allusion to All About Eve, Nomi's rise of fame represents quite clearly the harsh reality of the starving children in Africa and waterfall pool fucking... uh.... um... WHATEVER. YOU PEOPLE JUST DON'T GET IT =(

It is quite a good movie, don't know why so many critic dislike it. I got the VIP edition set DVD at a bargain. Elizabeth Berkley is quite good in this role, depicting what she goes through and did to be the number 1 star in the show. It sure ain't easy to be a Showgirl.

catchy title and what you see is what you get... glitz and glamour, the behind the scenes drama of stage life... predictible in some ways, yes, but still nicely done. elizabeth berkely is impressive and her character is brassy enough to kick butt and savvy enough to get what she wants.

It's like going to a strip club. It sounds like a great idea, but when you get there, the naked women are hideous, you're not getting off like you thought you would be, and then you realize you're poorer than had you just stayed home.

this is one of those movies that has so many problems it's difficult to pinpoint exactly what went wrong. well, i will try. jessie spano was poorly written. the acting was bad and the plot was weak. i never felt a connection to this movie. i remained an outsider, laughing occasionally at its cheapness. jessie got pissed off and ran away so many times it became funny. the ending was atrocious. how can an erotic film be so boring?? not gonna lie, some of the trashiness was fun. the ideal way to watch this would be to fast-forward to the trashy dance scenes. i know this is a big camp film and it definitely has campy aspects. but i thought it was overall too depressing to be considered any fun.

MCT:February 21, 2008Probably one of the best BAD movies ever made. I little depressing if you are familiar with any of the press that Elzabeth Berkley did for this film. She spent SO much time talking about how hard she worked on this film and how proud she was of it, that you can't help but wonder if she ever actually saw the finished project. There are so many amazingly bad moments in this film, but also lots of truly grand "train wreck" moments as well. Invite some friends over, have a few drinks and enjoy.

quite interesting dance movie and lots of flesh is shown in this one if you're interested ofcourse. But storyline is nice although quite basic but still...it's a movie! i like couple of the dance moves.

Evey thing about this film was just BAD. I have never seen so much nudity in a movie either. For all of the hype before this one came out...not worth any of it.
