Imprisoned on the island-fortress of Capri, Romulus searches for a means of escape. He discovers instead "excaliburnus," the legendary sword of Julius Caesar, and realizes that he must do all in his power to save Rome. Aided by the clever strategies of his teacher, Ambrosinus, and the heroic skills of his loyal legionnaire, Aurelius, Romulus escapes the island. Accompanied by his friends and a mysterious envoy from Constantinople, Romulus travels to Britannia in search of the last Roman Legion – the fabled Dragon Legion. There, Romulus will fight alongside his friends to make his last stand for Rome and take his first steps to becoming a man and he king who would father a legend.

Loved it. The fall of the roman Empire! Was a bit cliche but I loved the acting and I thought it was very well done.

This is based on a book and it romps along at a good pace. The acting was believable and the story was interesting.

Remarkably bad take on the "true" King Arthur story. The 2004 film, King Arthur, really wasn't very good, but it's lightyears ahead of this mess.

Finally saw it and was abit disapointed. First of all colin firth in anything he does i expect greatness which i got. Absolutely no chemistry between aish and colin it was so forced. They couldve kissed once come on! But the movie was iight i guess.

This Movie Sucked!!! I was falling asleep half way through it. Watch Disney's Sword in the Stone for a better telling of the same story

Big budget film aimed at a much younger audience than the main actors. Plausible plot, decent costumes, and beautiful locations make it interesting enough to watch from beginning to end. Of course, the downside is stiff dialogue and borderline acting. If you liked Kevin McKidd in Rome, you'll find him playing a cruder version of his Vorenus.

This was a good adventure film. I liked all the fight sequences and Ben Kingsley gave depth to the film.

I think the main reason I saw this is because Aishwarya Rai is in it. She doesn't disappoint, looks good and puts on a great performance. The movie's not bad, sure it doesn't compare to LOTR but as I said it's not bad. The thing I hate most about thi...(read more)s movie that all the Romans have British accents but you could say the same thing about Gladiator.

I have been informed that it is only decent because Aishwarya Rai climbs out of a lake wearing a white shirt. Then again, that's not really my thing (though I fully understand), so I'm lost.

    Peice. Of. Crap.
Really nor a redeaming quality, it was either too boring or too stupid, never in the middle of the spectrum.

I really enjoyed this fantastical look at the beginning of the Arthurian legend. The story evens seems plausible. Great sword and sandal adventure with just the right amount of humour.

Awesome epic battle in the untold beginning of the King Arthur legend about a 12-year-old boy, who is the last emperor, is protected by a general, wizard and warrior. Ben Kingsley makes a wonderful performance as the wizard and Indian beautiful actress Aishwarya Rai is incredible as the sexy warrior in her fight sequences at the first time I ever watched.

Ok, if you're to make a movie in a historical context, at least make sure it is historicaly accurate! I hate it when movies mix up different stories and different time periods thinking that the viewer won't know!!!! I expected much more of this, with such a cast like Colin firth, ben Kingsley.... I though it would be good... I was wrong... The only thing that I did appreciate is Kevin McKidd as the bad guy. Now he was a bad guy. For the rest, don't waste your time.

I think this movie had a lot of potential but it fell far short of it. It really didn't do anything for me which is a shame because I was looking forward to it. A lot of the actors weren't up to scratch and I think that was more due to the fact that they weren't suited to their roles rather then being bad actors. Aishwarya Rai, for example, although I love her in every other role I've seen her in she didn't perform too well in this one. John Hannah was quite a soft actor, it was almost like he was melting into the background especially when Colin Firth was in a scene with him. I found the best out of the lot to be Colin Firth who was stronger in his role then any of the others and the kid who played Romulus (Thomas Sangster) made an impression on me also.
There were also some attempts at humour which didn't amount to anything mildly amusing, the dialogue was questionable and I'm so glad that there wasn't more of a love story then there was because then it would be one of those movies you can't help but roll your eyes at. Something it was very close being in the first place.
I did however find the ending interesting, not good just interesting because now I wonder if they'll continue on from that with a movie about Arthur.

If you like stories about the fall of Rome, then you probably like this one. There were some great actions scenes, and a little bit of romance. Colin Firth did a great job as Commander!

Okay, in most cases, a 4 star review would mean this movie is one of the best. In all honesty, it's not, but I still love it. Part Gladiator, part King Arthur, part Kim, this movie has just about everything I like in a historical epic, only on a smaller, low-budget scale. The acting is great, even if the script is not, and it's just plain fun, even if you have seen everything before. Take it for what it is, and I don't think you'll be disappointed.
