After his parents request that he come home for their 50th wedding anniversary, the TV host packs up his 10-year-old son and diva bride-to-be and heads back to Georgia. It's a chance to prove to his family that he's no longer the awkward kid they relentlessly picked on. At least, that's the plan. But, when his crazy, lovable family calls him on his big-city attitude and challenges him at every turn, RJ is forced to take a hard look at the man he's become. They could have not picked a better cast if they tried. It was fantastic to see James Earl Hones again.Mike Epps rocks my socks,Love that guy.Anyway if you just want a great comedy that might all too well remind you of all the "great" qualities in your family and give you many, many laughs along the way,I highly recommend this movie =)

Roscoe Jenkins (Martin Lawrence) is a successful television talk show host who seems to be a cross between Dr. Phil and Jerry Springer. Roscoe is a single father of a pre-teen son, and he has just gotten engaged to a very strong-willed Survivor champion. Things are looking pretty good for Roscoe, and he's hesitant to leave his life of luxury for a few days to attend his parents' 50th anniversary celebration/family reunion weekend. Nonetheless, he decides to take the trip. He might have might a different decision if he had known how much this weekend was going to turn his comfortable life upside down. Funny, inviting, and just a wee bit over the top, Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins is a delightful surprise. It offers up an amazing cast, a consistent level of laughs, and enough homespun heart to get us over the calculated, cartoonish bits. Mike Epps and Mo'Nique both do their standard routines reasonably well, while Michael Clarke Duncan makes a good impression as Roscoe's brother. Lee has a vision for the piece and he sticks to his guns, pushing forward with massive displays of silliness, mostly centered on the continual beating of Roscoe at the hands of his brothers and sisters, and trusting his cast to improv like heavyweight champs and offer comedic reactions with Kabuki-like enormity.

I guess the whole point of escapism in movies was lost with the introduction of the "family reunion" movie.

Honestly I didn't expect much, thought this was gonna suck...but I just saw it and it was pretty darn funny. Martin was his usual self and Mo was just plain ole hilarious, Mr Duncan is just sexy and this was a really fun movie!!!I recommend for a fun afternoon with the family!

Someone recommended this film to me and I wasn't sure if it was going to be good or not but it definitely was. I was surprised as to just how good it actually was. If you like Comedies that make you laugh from beginning to end then this is a film to see.
