Usher saluted the spirit of Beau Rivage employees Friday morning as he announced a program that will help them rebuild or renovate their homes damaged by Hurricane Katrina.

The five-time Grammy-winning R&B singer and part owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers basketball team spoke briefly to hundreds of staff members about his New Look Foundation and the Beau Rivage Employee Home Assistance Initiative.

Beau Rivage President George Corchis explained the program provides up to $2,500 for down payment or closing costs to help employees rebuild or restore their homes. Usher's New Look Foundation will match every dollar the Beau Rivage contributes to the program. An additional $4,000 in state grants may be available to those who qualify, Corchis said.

"This great partnership was funded between Usher's New Look Foundation, Freddie Mac, Trustmark Bank and Visions of Hope," Corchis told Beau Rivage employees. "I encourage all of you to participate."
